1 Up & 6 Downs From WWE NXT UK (13 May)

4. Pretty And Deadly

To avoid any confusion, your writer adores Pretty Deadly. They’re a class act who are legitimately a step above the NXT UK roster, not only in their fashion style, but their in-ring style also. Every match of theirs is a joy to watch because they’re utilising some genuine innovation throughout.

Their promos, however, aren’t quite as innovative.

Sam Stoker and Lewis Howley spoke about how they came into NXT UK as a pair of unknowns, but they always knew they’d be Tag Team Champions one day. Their ending of Gallus’ record-breaking reign began their own reign of dominance. Cool story lads; it would have helped if they could do it cleanly, though. A DDT onto a title belt shouldn’t be what ends such an important title reign, even more so if the new champions are intended to be some rising prospects.

Again, Pretty Deadly are incredible and a true asset to NXT UK. We’ve heard this same promo time and time again, though. They need to change this up before they become stale. A good tag team shouldn’t rely solely on their in-ring offerings.
