1 Up & 6 Downs From WWE NXT UK (13 May)
3. Andrews Falls To Pieces
Mark Andrews vs. Levi Muir was a technically sound match. Muir overpowered Andrews on numerous occasions simply because he had the strength to do so. Andrews, meanwhile, showed a tad more ferocity in his strikes.
Why is it a Down then? Because this was supposed to be the rebirthing of Andrews in his new SUBCULTURE faction. Instead, it felt more like Mark was merely overcoming Muir because he got lucky.
Levi had far, far too much offence in this one, and even though his uppercut and Torture Rack were both fine executions of the manoeuvres, they had no place in the match. Andrews fought like he was the jobber of the contest, rather than dominating Levi throughout. His Fall To Pieces shooting star press was gorgeous; not enough to save his performance, though.
The whole SUBCULTURE group feels a tad iffy thus far. This was the first time any of the three members had actually wrestled since forming the group, yet, Flash Morgan Webster and Dani Luna refrained from staying at ringside. Sure, Luna had a gauntlet match to prepare for, but Webster easily could have stayed. Minor gripes, but everything adds together when it comes to the repackaging of a character(s).
