NXT UK’s usage of sit-down interviews ahead of marquee title matches rarely fail to stand out. A-Kid and Tyler Bate’s take on he segment was no different.
Joined by assistant general manager Sid Scala, the Heritage Cup’s champion and challenger did a whole lot of talking without actually saying anything. A-Kid noted how the Heritage Cup gives him a story to tell himself to get through hard times in his life, which was a WWE line if there ever was one, while Bate stated that the cup was made for him.
You see, the Moustache Mountain man isn’t chasing A-Kid, nor is he chasing the Heritage Cup Championship. He’s in his own lane, a lane that the Spaniard simply can’t see. But, right now, isn’t that lane heading in the direction of A-Kid? Bate wasn’t making a single bit of sense here.
Instead, ‘The Big Strong Boi’ spoke of his experience and the marquee matches he’s had in NXT UK. Because of this, he’s going to become the new champion. Experience always wins, except, it doesn’t. A dire skit that is sure to be saved by the third excellent outing between the pair next Thursday.
