Whether we knew it was coming or not, Sting's WWE debut at Survivor Series 2014 was still one of the absolute best moments in recent wrestling memory. Take out the slightly-too-long stare-down between him and HHH, and this was brilliantly done.

The only thing that could have made it better would have been if everyone in the world (or at least a good section of them) hadn't seen it coming as they sat down to watch the pay-per-view.

What's almost tragic about this one is that the company very nearly managed to keep everything hushed up. It was only in the few days leading up to the event that reports around the ex-WCW star's impending arrival began to take off.

In a way, that's a good metaphor for the whole of Sting's WWE run. It could have been awesome, but the forces just conspired against him: an ill-timed injury here, a ridiculous decision not put him against The Undertaker there. Oh, what could have been.
