Want to know how difficult it is to get the barmy concept of being a superhero over inside of the wrestling world? Just ask Nikki A.S.H.

After seemingly pouring her heart and soul into becoming an idol for the younger generation, the likeable lass still couldn't keep fans onboard long enough to really cement her blue and yellow detour as anything other than a bit of a disappointing experiment.

You couldn't blame her for trying, though. A few decades earlier, Shane Helms had somehow managed to capture a kind of lightning in a bottle with his Hurricane repackaging. And instead of quickly being laughed off and switched into yet another new character, fans were surprisingly into the nonsense.

In fact, The Hurricane managed to get so damn unexpectedly popular that he even found himself sharing the screen with The Rock early into his Hollywood career back in 2003. And better yet, he even scored a roll-up victory over The Great One.

Not bad for a superhero jobber-to-the-stars, eh?

Everything from his "What's Up With Dat?" catchphrase to his signature thumbs up didn't exactly scream unlikely mid-card sensation. But Helms showed that his real superpower was the ability to force people to give a damn about this little green underdog.
