10 AEW Stars Who Are Perfect For Ring Of Honor
1. Daniel Garcia
Considering he was just competing for the ROH Pure Championship at Death Before Dishonor, this might seem like a little bit of a cheat, but Daniel Garcia should be one of the ‘pillars’ of the new Ring of Honor.
Over the past few years, Tony Khan has done a good job of positioning Garcia as a future star, but right now, Red Death is not in the spot to make that happen. Many will point to the TV time he is getting as part of the Jericho Appreciation Society, but that isn’t the TV time he needs. Playing a goofball heel in a goofball stable doesn’t play to his strengths. Despite being shown to be deadly in the ring, it’s hard to take him seriously when he wears his doo-rag and mucks about with 2point0.
That isn’t the role for him.
Whilst he may not be blessed with amazing mic skills, he doesn’t need them. Garcia has the in-ring charisma and believable toughness that make him an immediate threat to anyone at anytime. In Ring of Honor, he can shed the JAS silliness, wreck anyone who steps in the ring with him, and establish himself as the most dangerous man on the roster.
Giving him a full-time spot on the ROH roster, pushing him as the man to defeat Claudio Castagnoli and letting him develop outside of the national spotlight will help AEW nurture a future main eventer.
Garcia is in a good spot right now. He could be in an even better one.
