10 AEW Stars Who Desperately Need New Gimmicks

10. Kip Sabian

The best thing about Kip Sabian's spot on this list is that it looks like he's about to get a new gimmick.

Calling himself 'The Forgotten One', the 29-year-old recently hit Twitter teasing a run to television after almost a year away from AEW. Splitting from his former 'Best Man' Miro in April, the Englishman revealed he was undergoing surgery, necessitating a lengthy period on the sidelines shortly after he and real-life wife Penelope Ford were married on air.

Sabian has since re-emerged with a cardboard box over his head. Reading "Under Rated, Over It" and with two large eyeholes cut out, Kip and his new attire have been caught in the crowd on Dynamite, Rampage, Dark, and Dark: Elevation without express acknowledgement several times over the past few months. It's a near-weekly occurrence at this point, sustained by fluttering online buzz without yet becoming a fully-fledged storyline.

Whatever form his new character takes, Sabian would do well to break from his old 'Superbad' self. As entertaining as he was, he hit a creative ceiling in the Best Friends feud that he and Miro lost prior to his injury-enforced hiatus, and could use a change if he's to find upward mobility in AEW.
