10 AEW Stars Who Will Be Champions In 2023
8. Powerhouse Hobbs
There is an argument to be made that Powerhouse Hobbs should already be a champion in AEW, after losing out on the TNT Title to Samoa Joe at Full Gear. It is understandable that the promotion wanted to protect Wardlow in the match by having Hobbs take the fall, but a braver piece of booking would have seen Powerhouse go over the champion in a singles match.
Hopefully, this only delays the inevitable TNT Title run for the 'Mon-Star,' who could take the title from Joe after Wardlow fails to do so. Hobbs could be an unstoppable champion for some time, much in the same way that Miro and Wardlow were whilst holding that prize.
The former Team Taz member has improved exponentially since appearing as a regular on Dark in 2020, and is one of the best 'homegrown' talents AEW has produced. A TNT Title win in 2023 would be fitting for the performer who has managed to become one of the best big men in the business in 2022.
The TNT Title is just the beginning for Hobbs too, as he could also be a future World Champion if his impressive trajectory continues.
