Spotlighted referees are a blessing and a curse in pro wrestling, as, on the one hand, they can be very handy in storylines and can get a good reaction from a crowd, but on the other hand, they can be distracting.

Aubrey Edwards walks the line between this well, as some people find her expressive refereeing to be a distraction and others think it enhances the matches. However you feel, one thing is sure, and that's that she bleeds white and gold.

Edwards has been very loyal to the company thus far, as they've helped her to make a name for herself as a referee, and she's given a lot to them. Edwards even branches out into other parts of the company by putting her past work as a video game producer into the development of AEW Games.

As a signee, she has given the promotion way more than what a standard ref role asks for, and thus, it's impossible to believe that she would throw that all away for a chance at working for WWE, especially as she's already had a run-in with the company.

On AEW Unrestricted, Edwards discussed the time she refereed for multiple WWE events, including the Mae Young Classic and Evolution. Despite working hard, they didn't end up signing her full-time, and that lack of faith must have influenced her loyalties.
