10 AEW Title Changes That MUST Happen In 2023
9. ROH World Championship - Bryan Danielson
It turns out it’s not that hard to book a strapping, intense, frighteningly strong bald Swiss man as a genuine threat. While his stable has been mired with overlong feuds and personnel issues, no one could begrudge Claudio Castagnoli winning his first World title, then regaining it in some style.
While his 2022 was less eventful, Bryan Danielson appears to be gearing up for, presumably, a PPV match for MJF’s World Title. Danielson won’t, and shouldn’t, win that, but is there anyone more worthy of a final run with a major strap than him?
Not only is he an all-time great, he’s specifically an ROH legend. Blackpool Combat Club has probably run its course, and lately a Claudio heel turn has been lightly teased (witness his bullying of Top Flight on Dynamite). A properly monstrous Swiss Superman would be some force, and Danielson is always great against bigger guys.
Bryan put over Cesaro on his way out of WWE, and there’s no doubt Castagnoli would return the favour. As great shape as he’s in, Danielson only has so much time left in active competition - this would be some feel-good story.
