10 AEW Wrestlers Poised To Break Out In 2024

Eyebrows were raised by some when Skye Blue moved away from being a happy-go-lucky babyface and started showing some edge. That was always going to happen. The high-fiving, 'I'm just happy to be here, folks!' style of baby is paper-thin, and it isn't going to cut it nowadays without serious star power or cracking storytelling to back things up (Cody Rhodes, for example).

So, AEW decided to have Julia Hart mist Skye and dabble with something different for Blue. The result is an intriguing blend of spunky in-ring babyface work and a little bit more menace than she ever showed previously. It's working, and it's why Skye will go on to become AEW Women's Champion in 2024.

That's a real must.

Blue has already shown more personality than women like Riho, Hikaru Shida or even Kris Statlander. Plus, regardless of opponent, Skye never looks out of her depth. Tony Khan must be impressed by what he's been seeing in 2023.
