10 AEW Wrestlers Who Are On The Rise
8. Ricky Starks
The FTW World Champion may not hold a federation-recognized title, but whenever he’s between the ropes or on commentary, he has the AEW fans in the palms of his hands.
When speaking to Paste Magazine, Ricky Starks gave fans an inside peek into his mindset:
“I think I fit my performance in everything I do to the expectations of myself. I’m a very—I’m a craftsman, right? So, everything I touch has to be quality. In terms of being on television... everything has to go 100% correctly. So, I’m a perfectionist on those terms... I’m always pushing myself to see how much better I can get, and that drives me.”
Starks may not be as built as fellow Team Taz stablemate Powerhouse Hobbs, or as cavalier as former TNT Champion Darby Allin, but he doesn’t have to be.
Starks brings with him an undeniable charisma that commands viewers’ attention.
That isn’t to say the 27-year-old isn’t as skilled between the ropes; he’s an outstanding performer, and excellent commentator, but he also has the ‘IT’ factor in spades.
The fact that Ricky Starks is going to play a massive part in AEW’s future seems ‘Absolute’.
