10 AEW Wrestlers Who Are On The Rise
7. Lee Moriarty
Lee Moriarty may be relatively new for the casual wrestling viewer, but when it was announced that ‘Taiga Style’ was All Elite, fans of the independent wrestling sensation were going wild.
There’s a reason why Moriarty is compared to Bryan Danielson in terms of technical proficiency.
He’s good. Damn good.
During an interview with Sports Illustrated back in March 2021, Moriarty had this to say regarding the comparisons:
“Over the past year, I’ve been compared to Bryan Danielson a lot. It’s such a humbling comparison and not one that I would expect. While he was on the independents, that was his focus–becoming the best. He wasn’t racing to sign a contract. If a contract comes my way, that’s one thing, but my focus is on what happens in the ring.”
The two former kings of the indies locked horns on the 16 February 2022 episode of Wednesday Night Dynamite in one hell of a technical contest.
Moriarty may not have scored the pin on Danielson, but the lessons learned from facing ‘The American Dragon’ should prove fortuitous all the same.
