When it was announced that AQA was set to face Jade Cargill during her ‘Open Challenge’ for the TBS Championship on the 9 February 2021 edition of Dynamite, it seemed safe to assume that Cargill would leave the arena with the gold.

While Jade Cargill’s retention wound up being the case, this was no squash match. AQA held her own against her powerful opponent, landing the cleanest Shooting Star Press ever executed on television during the spirited contest.

Angela Quentina Arnold may not have come away with the title that night, but she was a winner all the same. Following the impressive showing, the young wrestler was quickly hired by AEW President Tony Khan in one of the smartest signings of 2022, and that’s saying something.

Trained by WCW/WWE legend Booker T at his Reality Of Wrestling school, AQA would go on to become a two-time Women’s Champion at the developmental promotion before moving to NXT, where she wrestled as Zayda Ramier.

In November 2021, she was among the many names cut due to ‘budgetary reasons’ by the company.

Insanely talented, young, and hungry, AQA’s future in AEW is truly boundless.
