10 ALMOST Impossible Wrestling Comebacks That Might Actually Happen

8. Jake Roberts

As documented in the superlative 'Resurrection of Jake The Snake' documentary, Roberts' personal recovery was inconceivable enough, but his later life victory over the drug and alcohol demons that plagued his career appears to have left the door ajar for one final masterful performance on his favourite stage.

Just over a year after taking permanent residence with Diamond Dallas Page and transforming his mind and body, Jake appeared on January 2014's 'Old School' Monday Night Raw in a crowd-pleasing closing segment with CM Punk and The Shield. Draping a snake over Dean Ambrose, Roberts looked a picture of health in comparison with just about every public appearance he'd made for the past 15 years. It was part of a bigger goal he'd made public, and one that he's currently yet to achieve.

Throughout 2013, Roberts campaigned tirelessly over Twitter for a shot in the 2014 Royal Rumble, but WWE remained cautious until his energetic reemergence, instead electing to put him in the Hall of Fame later that year.

Since then, he has remained sober and victoriously tackled cancer and a serious bout of pneumonia. Roberts blew the roof off the building when he last returned to the company in a Royal Rumble over twenty years ago, and it would be inspiring to see history repeated.
