25 years ago, Scott Hall ushered in a new era of professional wrestling when he founded the New World Order alongside Kevin Nash and Hulk Hogan.

Blending wrestling with reality, this revolutionary angle helped the industry as a whole move away from the bland, cookie-cutter characters of the eighties and nineties, adding a layer of depth and intrigue to its participants that would bring wrestling back to the mainstream.

The nWo would help WCW dominate WWF in ratings during the early years of the Monday Night Wars.

The incorporation of guerilla-style filming, grit and real-world grit into the group’s repertoire would lay the foundation for similar stables like D-Generation X to build on. This went a long way to make wrestling as a whole more believable than ever before, even with kayfabe being left in the dust.

While Hall’s demons would ultimately keep him from reaching his true potential during his career, his contributions to professional wrestling can never be overstated. And though we will never see a “Bad Guy” like him again, Scott Hall’s legacy will live on forever.

Survey says, one more for the good guys.
