10 Amazing Wrestler Team-Ups That Ended Way Too Early

8. The Undertaker And Jake Roberts

Would there ever be a reason to change a single thing about arguably the greatest career in wrestling history? Maybe. The Undertaker has undoubtedly been a main event player since his first match for the WWE at Survivor Series €˜90. Yet, great team-ups elevate every member of the group and Jake Robert€™s run as a heel in the early 90€™s for WWE was so memorable it deserved a longer stretch. As an immensely popular upper mid-carder, Jake the Snake turned heel for the second time in his initial WWE run attacking Randy Savage and his new bride, Elizabeth, during their scripted wedding reception (in reality the pair was actually married years earlier and Macho Man wasn€™t twearing spandex tights for the nuptials€well, probably not). His partner in crime during this assault was none other than memorable newcomer, the Undertaker, who has been dominating the WWE since his first match six months prior to that show. These two formed such a dynamic alliance that WWE had them target all the top babyfaces right out of the gate. Everyone from Warrior, Hogan, Savage and Sid were targets for the team (with Sid€™s beatdown being especially vicious as evidenced by the below clip) and it seemed there was no limit to their potential between Robert€™s stellar mic work and Undertaker€™s undead zombie gimmick. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFsFjLvRapk Throughout their time together, the men were generally free to pursue their own feuds as solo competitors. Roberts continued his white hot feud with the Macho Man and Undertaker focusing on World Champion, Hulk Hogan. Yet, they continued their alliance where they each backed each other similar to babyface team-ups of this era. This alliance was cut short when Undertaker abruptly turned face a few weeks after Survivor Series and the pair would then set their sights on battling each other resulting in their Wrestlemania 8 encounter. Looking back now, this team-up was absolutely amazing in terms of storyline potential and should have remained together for longer than a few months.
