7. The Radicalz
The Radicalz entered the WWE during the Monday Night Wars as something of a real life version of WCWs New World Order stable. They were four talented but disgruntled veterans that had orchestrated their WCW release in order to enter the WWE as unit set for company domination. The group was led by Chris Benoit who was the de facto reigning WCW Champion (WCW had stripped him of the title upon his departure from the company) along with supremely talented upper mid-carders of Perry Saturn, Dean Malenko and Eddie Guerrero. There was palpable excitement when the quartet showed up together in the WWE at ringside during an episode of RAW. This anticipation reached a fever pitch a week later when all four men (in three different matches) would complete against top dog Degeneration X for bragging rights. So what did WWE do to these imports to build them up for a long, profitable feud? Thats righteach man was soundly defeated in their respective match and the whole group finished their initial debuts without a single win. (this was a sign of things to come as the WWE basically repeated this entire process on a larger scale with their horrendous handling of the Invasion storyline a few years later) As if that debut wasnt bad enough, Eddie Guerrero broke his elbow in his tag team match against the New Age Outlaws and he would be out of active competition. By the time he returned to the ring, the group had seemed to lose much of their momentum and soon the members were branching out for themselves. This fizzled out team-up would never have the same excitement from their debut night and would go down as one of the greatest missed opportunities in the Monday Night Wars.
