Wrestling may forever skirt between complete kayfabe and an obsession with climbing to the nearest rooftop just to shout, 'LOOK! WRESTLERS ARE REAL PEOPLE TOO!'. How else could the sappy way both Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch were presented in 2019 be justified when it didn't help either of them?

Admittedly, WWE, AEW and other promotions don't do this every single time. They do, however, pick the worst moments to blur fact and fiction so lovebirds can work tag matches on TV and kiss for exactly nobody's pleasure. This sort of thing only works sporadically (Macho Man and Liz) - not every damn time workers hook up for real behind the scenes.

Back to Seth and Becky.

Their obvious real life chemistry completely failed to materialise on screen, hurting the credibility of both as Raw's top singles stars. It sucked, and this sort of thing will always suck. Promoters need to start realising that wrestlers can relate without that creeping onto TV.
