10 Athletes Destined For Future WWE Careers

6. Wayne Rooney

In the worlds of Finley, Wayne Rooney loves to fight. The Manchester United striker plays football with fire in his belly and is never too far from the action. So much so that numerous times in his career has seen him sent off for retaliating or getting wound up too easily. Yet again, as with everyone on this list, a mentality that would lend itself to a career in professional wrestling. Rooney is even open about his fandom of WWE and has been spotted at a number of events in the United Kingdom. He even got himself into somewhat of a Twitter war with Bad News Barrett when he dived to win a penalty against BNB's Preston North End in the FA Cup earlier this season. He was also filmed boxing in his kitchen with Stoke City's Phil Bardsley with no head protection on. The defender would floor the England captain in an incident that went viral a few weeks ago. You often wonder how a character like Rooney will deal with retirement from the game. A move into the ring, wether it be amateur boxing or wrestling, could appease his considerable appetite for both competition and sheer brawling.
