10 Awesome Ideas That Were Cut From WWE

2. The Love Triangle

The year 2000 was one of WWE's best ever in terms of business and output.

Almost every single major show the company put out was a banger and the year was home to some of the most memorable moments and storylines in the history of the industry.

One that dominated the Summer that year was the love triangle between Triple H, Kurt Angle, and Stephanie McMahon. Trips and Steph were a kayfabe power couple (and a recent one in real life as well), but Kurt had definitely caught the eye of the Billion Dollar Princess.

Things reached their apex right before the Unforgiven pay-per-view, when Kurt and Steph shared a smooch. Then, almost out of nowhere, the storyline ended. No real payoff, no big swerve, it just ended.

Gossip has long persisted that Triple H shot the whole thing down because he thought that Stephanie leaving him for Kurt was "unrealistic".

Although many people, including Jim Ross, have denounced this, it's utterly hilarious to think that The King of Kings would be so big-headed that he'd be willing to kibosh one of the hottest storylines of the year just to save his pride.

Hilarious, and not entirely unbelievable.
