Like the previous entry, this design choice was a by-product of having to adapt to the pandemic era. WWE relies heavily on live audiences, meaning this tough period of isolation was sink or swim. The company mostly managed to swim with the introduction of the Thunderdome, but they also made a choice that was less swimming and more jet-skiing.
Using an 8k camera during wrestler ring entrances was a stellar idea as it gave the performers a whole new look. This camera made them appear massive and superhero-like, capturing the promotion's incredible production value and the prestige of its workers excellently. It also acted as a great way to distract viewers from the lack of live reactions, as the camera angle was solely focused on the star.
Fans utterly loved this addition. However, after the pandemic began closing shop and audiences were filtered back in, these 8k entrances were dropped. There was no discussion as to why they came to an end. All that fans knew was that their favourite new entrances were gone.
Most people want to leave everything that happened during Covid in the past, but some things should have lasted.
