10 Awesome Matches WWE Must Book By The End Of 2017

4. Kurt Angle Vs. The Miz

Kurt Angle
WWE

It looks like the ongoing Kurt Angle storyline will lead to his in-ring return, with Stephanie McMahon and Triple H set to be revealed as his recent tormentors. This will reportedly lead to a match between ‘The Game’ and the Raw General Manager sometime in 2017, but while this seems almost certain to happen, it’s far from the most exciting option for Angle’s comeback.

Triple H’s last few big matches have been excruciatingly boring, and provide little hope that he’ll be able to get the best out of an old, broken down Angle. Once they get this inevitable snooze-fest out of the way, WWE should look at booking Kurt against a less tedious opponent, with The Miz standing out as a candidate.

Miz might not be the most athletic performer in the company, but he has developed into a fine worker in his own right. His style is relatively safe, too, which should limit the risk to Angle’s battle-damaged body. If WWE build a rivalry similar to Miz’s feud with Daniel Bryan, they can create oodles of heat for their eventual showdown, only this time, there’ll actually be an in-ring payoff.
