10 Awesome One-Time WWE Champions
3. Andre The Giant
Despite being partly responsible for the most iconic 30-second sequence in the history of professional wrestling, Andre The Giant only held the WWE Championship for one day. Or, more precisely, for about two minutes.
The context here is that Andre surrendered the belt to Ted DiBiase after being presented with a big wad of cash. It's not like he got ambushed by a briefcase-wielding Carmella or anything - so there's that.
But still, it seems like a somewhat paltry reward for helping to define an entire era, especially when you consider that his biggest adversary, Hulk Hogan, carried the thing on six separate occasions, for a total of more than 2,000 combined days.
Then again, it's hard to find any nominal bad guy who was champion for more than a couple of weeks in the 1980s. For promotional purposes, they favoured having their biggest prize around the waist of a musclebound superhero 90% of the time.
