Splitting teams just for the sake of it is something that has happened far too often in WWE history. There rarely seems to be a game plan post-split either, almost like the creative team didn't think that side of things through before pulling the trigger on a schism. Perfect example? The Hart Dynasty.

As a team, David Hart Smith and Tyson Kidd worked a brilliant big man/little man dynamic during matches, and they also had the benefit of Natalya's presence at ringside. There was obvious lineage there too. Smith was the son of The British Bulldog, Kidd had trained at the infamous Hart Family Dungeon, and Natalya was the daughter of Jim Neidhart.

For some reason, WWE decided it was best to split the team in 2010. Had this led to something meaningful, then all would be forgiven, but it didn't. All WWE achieved was spoiling a damn fine tag-team, and the split pushed both men down the pecking order rather than helping them.
