10 Awesome Things Happening In WWE Right Now

8. WWE Is Trying To Tell Stories NOT Based On Titles!

WWE wrestlers are closer to plot devices than they are characters. Consider Bray Wyatt.

On Monday's RAW, his music played at the close of the Samoa Joe Vs. Seth Rollins main event. Joe took advantage of the distraction to pick up the win. Wyatt isn't a character; he is a MacGuffin, wheeled out to interfere in a match WWE can't bring themselves to end conclusively for fear of "weakening" the loser. The grim irony is that the winner gains nothing from the scenario. It was yet more 50/50 booking - couldn't WWE stop this insanity, just once, given that Joe is only going to face Brock Lesnar in little over a month? - but that isn't in the spirit of the piece.

WWE needs hooks to drag viewers in week to week, and has spun two mysteries in recent weeks with the intention of doing just that. Who is texting criticism to Kurt Angle, and who is maiming Enzo and Big Cass backstage?

At this point is barely matters that the answers are obviously a) Stephanie McMahon and b) The Revival. Nor does it matter that the Angle/Stephanie feud is going to emasculate Kurt for months on end, or that The Revival needn't bother attacking Enzo and Cass because they're the far superior tandem.

WWE is doing something outside of its usual norm. For this, it should be celebrated.
