5. The Undertaker And Kane
Even into 1998, the then-WWF felt the best way to use The Undertaker at WrestleMania was to have him oppose another gigantic physical presence. For years, 'Taker had been forced to face the likes of Giant Gonzales, King Kong Bundy and Sycho Sid, with only his bout against Kevin 'Diesel' Nash at 'Mania XII standing out as anything above average. A match against Kane at WrestleMania XIV wasn't the most stunning bout in the history of the event either. The story surrounding the match was strong, mainly because Kane felt like something fresh on the WWF landscape at the time. There was enjoyment to be had with the supernatural tale, but the matches between both men were routinely slow and stodgy. Years later, battles between the pair over the World Heavyweight Championship in 2010 were interminable. There must be a reason behind this, and it seems to be that The Undertaker and Kane don't have great chemistry together as opponents. As a tag-team, they appear fearsome, but they don't equate to solid in-ring action when on opposing sides of the ring.
