10 Awesome Wrestlers WWE Totally Slept On
4. Evan Bourne
Evan Bourne made his WWE debut in 2008 at the mere age of 25 as part of the new ECW brand, and quickly picked up a reputation for his incredible athleticism, best exemplified by his all-timer Shooting Star Press.
Bourne was traded to Raw in 2009, and despite considerable fan enthusiasm for his in-ring work, he barely made a dent, aside from a vaguely memorable WWE Tag Title run with Kofi Kingston in 2011.
In late 2011 and early 2012, Bourne received two Wellness Policy violations, and was then put out of action for over a year following a motorcycle accident. Bourne returned for live shows on NXT, but after over a year without any TV time, WWE released him in the summer of 2014.
Bourne has since worked extensively with Ring of Honour, Evolve, New Japan, and Impact Wrestling, memorably teaming with Ricochet in recent years.
But WWE didn't know what they had with Bourne: his great look and incredible in-ring work should've made him a star.
At 36 years of age, he's not beyond a return, and given that WWE recently allowed him to use the Evan Bourne name while wrestling for Evolve, it actually doesn't seem outside the realm of possibility.
