During the uncertain times of the pandemic, many people have had excess time for introspection. This is especially true in the slowed-down wrestling industry. However, Natalya dealt with her own introspection on, and as a result of, social media, coming out of the situation stronger than ever.

There was likely angst brewing before, but a careless social media post by WWE on Fox brought her emotions out online. The meme posted, a take on the overdone “build-a-team-with-$X" game, priced Natalya at the $1 level. ‘The Queen of Harts’ fired back:

“I have struggled for years to figure out exactly what my worth is, but I won't allow anyone to pick that number for me. As hurtful as seeing this is, I wanted to be known, that if I ever find myself under all of these wonderful women it's because I am a pillar and a foundation of what we're doing. So please keep the $1, because anyone who knows anything, knows how Priceless I am.”

For this, she secured the backing of the wrestling world, and her star has steadily risen during the COVID era.

Fans have become so used to Natalya the solid hand, taking a backseat to make stars of others, that many have forgotten the tremendous athlete she is. She is leaving the ThunderDome a champion, opinion is still out as to whether she’ll have to carry Tamina, but fans should appreciate seeing Natalya do what she was born to – now with championship stakes and the chance to finally silence her critics.
