7. Karrion Kross
Karrion Kross has managed to regain the championship he lost via injury and is again leading the NXT pack. Fans of his run in Impact Wrestling won’t be surprised that he has been a breakout star.
Arguably this incarnation of Kross has an amped-up aesthetic and reliance on promos, both of which make him an increasingly compelling character. His place in NXT is even more impressive when you factor in that his in-ring debut was just over a year ago, and he lost time (and his first NXT Championship) due to a separated shoulder.
Along with Scarlett, the intense promos and violent in-ring action have fast-tracked the real-life couple to the top of the black and yellow brand.
Kross’ sinister promos and bruising offence in the squared circle are currently missing a key element – mass fan reaction. Kross and Scarlett need a crowd to reach the next level of superstardom. Fans are essential to intimidate and unnerve with their often cryptic but always sinister mic work. Between the ropes, Kross needs their winces and groans as he inflicts an all-too-believable beating on anyone that crosses him (pun not intended).
