Usually, verbal confrontations on WWE Pay-Per-Views tend to feel a little too cheap for a show fans are paying to watch, leaving many feeling like they're watching Monday Night Raw instead of a one-off special event. Thankfully, Sting's face-to-face with Triple H at Fast Lane didn't have that atmosphere, it felt grand. There's still something cool about seeing Sting in a WWE ring, even if he's not going up against The Undertaker. Triple H is a suitable opponent, and it fits the storyline, giving a nod to Sting's previous run against the nWo in WCW. As the head of The Authority, HHH is almost playing the role of Hollywood Hogan here. By far the best aspect of the entire meeting was the fact that the Stinger didn't say one word over the microphone. That's long been a hallmark of his vigilante character, and it was in full effect here. Triple H did all the talking, before trying to ambush the legend. Battling back with his trusty baseball bat, Sting used his weapon to point to the Wrestlemania sign, and a match was made for the biggest event on the wrestling calendar, just like that. It felt weighty, meaningful, and hopefully the match will have the same impact. Sting isn't quite the quick-moving performer he was before, so fans should expect distractions aplenty, such as run ins and weapon-based brawling. Even so, as far as set up goes, this was awesome.
