Cesaro had more momentum than just about anyone coming out of WrestleMania 30, but WWE squandered his hot streak big time in the remainder of the year. Following his grand win in the inaugural Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, he bounced around from feud to feud without much success, until stumbling upon Tyson Kidd as his tag team partner.

Kidd, who was fresh off a rebirth in NXT, was also floundering on the roster around that time and desperately needed something to sink his teeth into. While both Kidd and Cesaro deserved singles success, coming together as a tandem was exactly what each of them needed.

The two were randomly paired together in a Tag Team Gauntlet match on Raw, and although they came up short of victory, they were the stars of the matchup. They showed incredible chemistry together and thus remained a tag team. Within two months of when they initially joined forces, they upset The Usos to become WWE Tag Team champions.

The "Best Team Ever" was just reaching its pinnacle when they lost the belts to The New Day at Extreme Rules, never to regain them due to the career-threatening injury Kidd suffered shortly thereafter.
