Although Booker T had the potential to be a major star immediately upon his arrival in WWE, a poorly handled invasion angle with WCW relegated him to a midcard role for the better part of 2002. It wasn't until Goldust goaded him into becoming his tag team partner that his hilarious personality began to shine through.

Despite being polar opposites, Booker and Goldust were a terrific tandem, and their backstage segments were often better than their matches were. The former five-time WCW champion refused to pair up with Goldust for the longest time, but once he eventually agreed to join the tag team ranks with him, they captured the World Tag Team Championship at Armageddon 2002.

Not only did the pairing help further Booker's rising popularity, it helped resurrect Goldust's career and allowed him to return to prominence one last time. Their days as a team should have lasted longer than they did, losing the twin titles a short time later, but WWE was more determined in pushing Booker as a singles star at that point. Goldust faded off into obscurity and fans are still waiting for a reunion.
