10 Awesome WWE Moments That Went Absolutely Nowhere

2. Ric Flair's Brash Arrival (Prime Time Wrestling - Sept 1991)

Hulk Hogan vs. Ric Flair was the dream match in the late '80s and early '90s, and when 'The Nature Boy' finally signed with the old WWF in 1991, setting it up became a priority.

Flair had taken the WCW Heavyweight Championship belt with him. It was blurred out on television, but he still referred to himself as 'The Real World Champion' in his blistering Prime Time Wrestling debut promo, during which he fired direct shots at Hogan and Roddy Piper. The wheels were then set in motion at Survivor Series, when Flair helped The Undertaker defeat Hulk for the WWF's prize, but alas, it never came to pass.

Vince McMahon pumped the brakes on Hogan vs. Flair when their house show matches didn't draw to expected levels. They clashed in the 1992 Royal Rumble, but Sid Justice, not Ric, was in 'The Hulkster's' future, while Flair defended his new WWF Championship against Randy Savage at WrestleMania instead. The feud never came to pass, and fans were made to wait for a neutered WCW version in 1994 instead.

It remains one of the all-time great debut promos, but Prime Time Wrestling should have led to Hogan vs. Flair. It did, but only for a couple of weeks.
