10 Awesome WWE Moments We Wish Had Happened Earlier

5. Brock Lesnar Fighting Daniel Bryan

Brock Lesnar and Daniel Bryan's match at Survivor Series 2018 was the moment that many people realised that Daniel Bryan was truly back with us. He'd had good matches since his miraculous return to the ring in April 2018 after years of forced retirement but this was the moment where the American Dragon fully came back.

It is a masterpiece, the best main roster WWE match since Bryan's classic with Cena five years before, and is one of the best structured wrestling matches of the century. It was everything fans wanted it to be, a dream match that lived up to and surpassed expectations.

However, WWE missed out on one of the best natural narratives they've ever had by not booking them for the main event of WrestleMania 31. Bryan had just returned from injury after vacating the championship he'd worked for years to win, chasing the belt that he'd never truly lost. Lesnar had never looked stronger following his vanquishing of Undertaker's WrestleMania streak and squashing John Cena at SummerSlam. The conventional babyface/heel dynamic had rarely been stronger and it will always be tragic that WWE didn't book it, even though Roman Reigns did an exceptional job in that slot.
