10 Awesome WWE Moments We Wish Had Happened Earlier
4. Sasha Banks And Bayley’s Main Roster Rivalry
Sasha Banks and Bayley had been rumoured for a long term rivalry on the main roster since Bayley's call up in 2016. The closest they came was in 2018, when Sasha eliminated Bayley from the Women's Elimination Chamber, seemingly leading to a longer platform between the two for WrestleMania 34. That didn't happen, but at the event, their turbulent relationship caused both women to lose in the pre-show battle royal, which led fans to keep the hope alive that their rivalry would happen.
But nothing happened! They went back to not doing very much before becoming a proper tag team again, eventually winning the Women's Tag Team Championships at the 2019 Elimination Chamber. After dropping the titles abruptly at WrestleMania 35, Sasha disappeared from TV for months before returning and reuniting their partnership, this time as heels.
This led to their longest sustained run as a duo, eventually paying off their years of on screen friendship with a masterful rivalry in 2020, with both women putting on one of the best Hell in a Cell matches of the PG era. It was brilliant stuff but it still stings that they weren't trusted to have their programme back in 2018.
