Roman Reigns has had his troubles as a main event babyface, that much is for certain, but fans seem to have calmed somewhat to the big man in recent months. A large part of this must be attributed to the fact that WWE have moved away from trying to make him John Cena-lite, a smiling, happy-go-lucky ass kicker. Instead, he's been shifted back into what is clearly a more suited role, a big enforcer who takes no prisoners. Yes, there were smiles when Reigns interacted with his old stablemate, Dean Ambrose at Payback, but that's ok, they didn't take away from the serious tone of the match. Entrenched in a Fatal Four Way match for the WWE Title, both men should have been serious, but both Ambrose and Reigns showed personality in abundance when they dominated the bout. Wiping out everybody else who was involved, the former partners appeared to have a blast trading blows, as the red hot crowd cheered and booed along with what they were witnessing. It was pretty awesome to see both Ambrose and Reigns thump Kane through the Spanish announce desk, then stand tall as the live audience went nuts.
