The multiple talents of R-Truth, including his comedic ability, have kept him employed by WWE for many years. To see a good example, check out the second season of WWE Swerved where (spoiler alert), he acts as a security guard that's been hired to work the metal detector. While his RAW stuff isn't always good comedy, when left to his own devices and material, as he was in Swerved, the guy can entertain.

So it shouldn't come as a surprise that when he developed his imaginary friend of "Little Jimmy", it was a creative, entertaining bit. When he used the same term, however, to begin describing the fans of WWE, it was far less creative.

Obviously, the "presence" of Little Jimmy helped R-Truth get over and so WWE tried stretching the legs of the Little Jimmy bit, but using it as a label of the fans was not only forced, it reeked of desperation. Not every component of a WWE superstar needs to be molded into something else; some things just need to be left to stand on their own.

Little Jimmy as the imaginary friend of a crazy heel R-Truth predicated his return back to babyface. It endeared him to the fans; it shouldn't have become the fans.
