10 Awful Wrestling Matches That Stunk Up Arenas

2. Viscera Vs. Shelton Benjamin - WWE New Year's Revolution 2006

Warrior Goldust II
WWE Network

Viscera as King Mabel was the recipient of possibly the least-deserved push in wrestling history in 1995. Astonishingly, he was still well thought of enough to warrant push after push over a decade later.

Adding to the drudgery, this match took place during Benjamin's brief pairing with his "Momma", a grotesquely racist caricature who absolutely would not shut up at any point. She constantly advised that Viscera "can't move that fast!". She admonished her "son" for not getting up quickly enough. She also reminded Benjamin that she's "right here!" - as if that wasn't excruciatingly obvious.

Content-wise, this was leagues ahead of some of the entries on this list, but Momma Benjamin's encouragement would have ruined Shawn Michaels Vs. Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 21. It was ceaseless.

Not content with grossly approximating a legitimate athletic contest, Viscera also intimated that he'd like to engage in sexual relations with Benjamin's mother in the opening exchanges.

He then carries out the threat at the finish. He violently humps the prone Benjamin, acting as proxy for his Momma, who mercifully interfered to cost Big Vis the match.

On commentary, Jerry Lawler found the whole charade hugely amusing - which said it all.
