10 Most Awkward Real Life Relationships In Wrestling History
9. John Cena & Mickie James & Ken Doane
While Ken Doane (aka Kenny from the Spirit Squad, as well as Kenny Dykstra) was never the biggest name in the business, and certainly never more than a tiny blip on the WWE radar, he was involved in one of the juicier bits of gossip in recent WWE memory. Doane's version of the story is that John Cena stole his girlfriend, and his decisions to talk about Cena's "issues" cost him his job with the company. That's a juicy enough story, but when you consider Doane's girlfriend was Mickie James, one of the most decorated female wrestlers of all-time as far as titles and exposure are concerned, it kicks things up several notches. Doane would say that he confronted Mickie about the affair, and that she admitted to sleeping with Cena. He would also say that Cena had been sleeping with another WWE Diva, not naming her, but dropping hints that she was someone who was married to a man outside of the wrestling business and that she was sent from Raw to Smackdown after she stopped sleeping with Cena in 2007 - meaning Victoria was the only person who fit the bill there. Continuing Doane's story, he was sent from Raw to Smackdown once Cena found out that the Mickie affair had been discovered. Once on Smackdown, Doane was used less and less, until his eventual release from the company. It's a weird story, and many believe it to simply be sour grapes on the part of someone who was fired, but there are too many odd coincidences with what Doane was saying. Having to be around his girlfriend and the man who slept with her (who just so happened to be the untouchable face of the entire company), even for a little while, had to be excruciating.
