10 Most Awkward Real Life Relationships In Wrestling History
6. Randy Savage & Miss Elizabeth
The stories of Randy Savage's insane jealousy and insecurity when it came to Miss Elizabeth are legendary. If someone even looked at Elizabeth, Savage was prone to fly off the handle. His friendship with Hulk Hogan fell apart because of that jealousy, as the story says that Savage thought Hogan really was lusting after Elizabeth, just like the on-screen Savage was accusing Hogan of doing. In the first half of 1992, after seven-and-a-half years of marriage (and less than a year of being married on-screen), the relationship between Savage and Elizabeth was falling apart. Growing tired of his jealous and controlling ways, Elizabeth was looking to file for divorce, but would wait until after her final WWF appearance to officially do so. With all of the stories that we've heard about Randy Savage, think about how he must have been and felt during that time. Coming to work with his wife, that he has been losing his mind about for nearly a decade, only to know that their relationship is crumbling before his very eyes. There was a part of him that wanted to continue being who he was, and doing the same things he had been doing. There had to be another part of him that wanted to help save his marriage, and doing all of those things would only accelerate the car crash that was coming. It's amazing that he wasn't a mental wreck in 1992, but instead, he went on to have a really good in-ring year in spite of everything going on around him.
