10 Bad Habits WWE MUST Kick
7. Petty Theft
As of writing, Brock Lesnar is 401 days into his Universal Title reign despite not having an upcoming Championship match on the docket nor even 20 matches total since he won the title at WrestleMania 33.
'The Beast' is a divisive figure. He now commands an audacious salary following a lucrative contract extension, despite the specialness all but evaporating in recent months thanks to his contests suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome due to the total overpopulation of Suplex City.
A headliner in name alone, his infrequent appearances have been an increasing creative irritant too. Brock's beaten just about everybody and yet doesn't offer much in the way of progression in defeat. Losing his title will be one thing, but as long as the company continues to fail in its effort to make new stars it'll be for naught anyway.
Worst still, (and almost certainly by design) it'll wipe away the best longevity record of the modern era. CM Punk's 434-day run was once the longest since Hulk Hogan took the company to unimaginable heights in the mid-1980s. It'll soon be a footnote underneath the longest token gesture in pro wrestling history. Vince McMahon infamously fired Punk on his wedding day in 2014, just months before Nikki Bella took his new wife's Divas Title record reign too - again as with now at the expense of the product. It's worse not only that it's happening again, but that there's already precedent for it.
