10 Banned Segments WWE Had To Censor

Good luck finding these moments officially. WWE, Netflix and more banned them!

***Netflix has censored the contents of this article. Good day!***

Only kidding, of course.

Thankfully, the streaming behemoth can't get involved to limit what you read about here. They're far too busy poring over WWE content and trimming off the bits they deem offensive, insensitive and/or too violent. Sometimes, such heavy-handed PR handling is understandable, but it can get a little too much.

Countless segments or moments have been censored, edited out or full on banned generally over the years. Common sense dictates that retrospectively regrettable racist skits or anything that might get the company in legal hot water should hit the bricks, but there's a mix of 'yeah, fair enough' and 'they deleted that?!' here.

Top stars are included too. Brock Lesnar found himself in trouble with Netflix, so did Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan. Then, there's Vince McMahon and some of his frankly unnecessary work from a pay-per-view 20+ years ago.

John Cena has been brought into the chat on SmackDown, Ric Flair planted one on a member of the women's division, Lita 'slipped out' during a raunchy, controversial in-ring moment, and Roddy Piper surely wanted to have another think about his antics at WrestleMania VI.

Oh yes, it's all been kicking off on WWE's watch for a long time now. The outfit is no stranger to controversy. Whilst they'd argue against a few instances of censorship, management at TKO likely wish they could blast select entries from the mass consciousness and wash their hands of them.

Did some/all of these moments deserve to get banned? You decide.

10. A ‘Having Sex With John Cena’ Dig

Paige Nikki Bella

The main crux of Paige's feud with Nikki Bella has been the pair's respective sexual pasts.

That's it in a nutshell, and it feels like a proper throwback to the Diva days when WWE's women focused more on sexuality than pure wrestling skills. It didn't take long for things to get fraught either; Nikki has mentioned her counterpart's old sex tape more than once during promos.

Paige decided to fire back in a big way on the 4 September 2026 SmackDown. There, as both traded lines about their respective pasts, the Brit unleashed a tide by saying she’d built her career “on hustle, loyalty and respect”. Meanwhile, Bella “just slept with it”.

That was a clear nod towards Nikki's prior relationship with John Cena. The then-couple got engaged inside the ring at WrestleMania 33, but they'd never tie the knot before splitting. Clearly, this was something these women agreed on before the cameras started rolling, but lines like that will always grab attention.

Their confrontation aired on USA Network, but Netflix cut it out of on demand replays for SmackDown. Some fans on social media have chimed in to say they don't like that approach, because wrestling is scripted entertainment and Nikki was obviously fine with what was said.

Netflix didn't care. They'd made their minds up, and thus wiped the line from existence. Interestingly, WWE themselves kept the promo intact on their own YouTube and official website recaps of the show.

Get used to that disconnect between the company and Netflix the deeper you get into this article.
