10 Batista Controversies That James Bond Fans Need To Know About
8. He Doesn't Take Orders Well Either
As well as failing to take criticism, Batista has also failed to take orders several times in his career. An example of this is his autobiography Batista Unleashed where he fought to keep mentions of Chris Benoit's name in the book, despite the fact that WWE was reeling from the Benoit trajedy and he was supposed to be persona non grata with the company. When Batista got word from WWE's lawyers that he was to remove any mention of Benoit's name, Batista argued to keep him in. Another more recent example of Batista not following orders was when he decided he wanted to bleed in a cage match against Chris Jericho during the PG era. Batista went against orders and did a blade job. Vince McMahon was furious over this incident as he felt that Batista deliberately went against company policy and fined Batista, Jericho and producer Dean Malenko a substantial amount of money ($100,000 for Batista). To his credit, Batista paid Jericho's fine but it was still a needless thing to do. What would Batista do if Spectre director Sam Mendes gave him an order that he didn't agree with? Would he just not take it and do it his way instead? Batista is a professional, absolutely, but he has a history of not following orders.
