WWE "Mulling Over Alternative Plans" Amidst Jacob Fatu Injury Reports (WWE News)

Sunday's WWE Clash In Italy main event between Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu could be in jeopardy.

The Wrestling Observer speculates that Sunday's World Heavyweight Championship bout pitting Roman Reigns vs. Jacob Fatu "might be in jeopardy" due to an injury the 'Samoan Werewolf' suffering during WWE's house show in Liverpool, England on Thursday.

There, Fatu worked opposite old stablemate Solo Sikoa in a 'Street Fight', and it's believed he hurt his back during the bout. Soon thereafter, PWInsider reported that the company "is mulling over alternative plans" for the 'Tribal Combat' match Jacob has lined up with Roman.

However, Cory Hays from False Finish has said on socials that WWE "are under the assumption that Jacob will be fine by Sunday". They're "currently looking into potential pivots" if doctors rule that he can't go as planned though. That'd obviously be a major bummer, because Reigns vs. Fatu has been spotlighted as Raw's top match for the European PLE.

The stipulation heading into the show is that Jacob will have to fall in line and acknowledge Roman if he doesn't beat the 'OTC' for the belt. Creative would have to shred (or at least park) those plans if medics prevent Fatu from working in Turin.

There's no word yet on what "potential pivots" could look like. Someone else would have to step up and fight Reigns in 'Tribal Combat', presumably, but...who? Neither of The Usos can do it, and someone like Solo would be a poor substitute for Jacob on the night.

Sikoa would represent a huge disappointment for the local live crowd, so fingers crossed these reports are wide of the mark and Fatu can still work.
