Around summer 2005 Batista irked a lot of WWE superstars with comments he made to The Sun. Batista, who was then working on the Raw brand, criticised the Smackdown roster and called them lazy and said that they lacked passion. With The Undertaker, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Hardcore Holly and respected veterans on the show this was never going to sit well and when Batista was drafter from Raw to Smackdown the roster let it be known that he had heat with them. Not only were the wrestlers annoyed with Batista but apparently Vince McMahon was also less than impressed with Batista's actions. You just don't needlessly bash the company like that, especially when you have had preferential treatment because you're a big guy with friends in high places. Needless to say, Batista was alienated for this and eventually made amends and aplogised to the locker room.
