10 Beloved Inanimate Objects That Didn’t Survive Wrestling Feuds

Rest in pieces.

Wrestling is a business of theatrics. The days when two men would walk into a ring, have a match, and walk out have been gone for about a century, replaced by pomp and circumstance, and the trappings that come with them. Wrestlers can't just wrestle like stars, they have to look like stars, as well, bearing all the accoutrements that conveys.

Some wrestlers are synonymous with their prop of choice - Ric Flair wore ornate robes to the ring for his wrestling matches, while The Honky Tonk Man carried a guitar over his shoulder. More outlandish wrestlers carried or wore more outlandish things, and the objects soon became part of their gimmicks.

Of course, for every beloved inanimate object, there's a hated rival just waiting to destroy it. Assaulting an opponent is all well and good, but when you can permanently ruin a prized possession, that takes things to another level. All of a sudden, the feud becomes extremely personal.

This list highlights ten inanimate objects - each with their own special connection to their owner or the WWE Universe - and the brutal end that they met in the course of a wrestling feud. While they may be gone, at least they helped put heat on a program with their eventual destruction.

10. Mitch

As per Shane McMahon's orders, Chris Jericho's long-running Highlight Reel talk show segment was cancelled in favor of Dean Ambrose's Ambrose Asylum. Gone was the obscenely expensive Jeritron 6000, and in its place stood a simple potted plant, which Ambrose named Mitch.

Unfortunately, The Ambrose Asylum wouldn't last long - and neither would Mitch. When Ambrose welcomed Stephanie McMahon on his show as a guest, he couldn't help but needle her about getting Speared by Roman Reigns at WrestleMania and forced to run Raw in tandem with Shane. In response, Stephanie immediately cancelled The Ambrose Asylum and brought back The Highlight Reel.

Chris Jericho made his way out to the ring and got into a staredown with Ambrose. As the two had already been feuding, things soon turned physical. Ambrose seemed to have the upper hand when he took Jericho into the ring and hit him with Dirty Deeds, but Jericho came back, grabbed Mitch, and shattered the plant and pot over "The Lunatic Fringe's" head.
