10 Best Active Wrestlers Who Will Never Be World Champion

7. Xavier Woods

Xavier Woods has had an incredible career in WWE and is most certainly a future Hall of Famer. As part of The New Day, Xavier Woods has won the WWE Tag Team Championship 11 times. He would go on to ride this success into a singles run which saw him win the King Of The Ring Tournament last year. It was a dream come true for King Woods, and many fans were happy to see it.

However, given that Woods is currently 35 and didn’t see anything come from this KOTR win, his momentum has completely stalled. It certainly doesn’t help that Woods is seemingly overshadowed in the spotlight by former WWE Champions and New Day stablemates Kofi Kingston and Big E, two people WWE seems keener on pushing than Woods. As good as Woods is on the mic and in the ring, he has never been able to capture the same singles success that his New Day friends have.

Seeing King Woods holding a mid-card belt wouldn’t be too far out of reach, but as for World Champion? No one is putting their money on that.

With The New Day currently reforming on Smackdown it’s doubtful we see Woods in any role other than tag team wrestling. Which is fine, but not the situation a star wants to find themselves in if they’re gunning for The Big Belt. While a heel turn may give Woods the momentum needed for a big singles push, it doesn’t seem as though Woods would even want this. With all that said, for King Woods, the King Of The Ring will have to be enough.

The Iron Sheik once said, "DON'T BE A F****** JABRONI!" That advice changed my life, as I am in fact now standing here as definitely not a jabroni. Thanks for reading my stuff! #HTX Matthew 11:28
