10 Best AEW Entrance Themes

Ahhhhhhhh...

SCU...this is the worst theme I've ever heard!

Nah I'm just kidding it's a total stomper that is perfect opening act fare.

It hits every literal note required of a pro wrestling entrance theme. The opening sting is on-the-nose - 'SCU!' - but that's what the sting is for. The opening dirty chord strike threatens something generic, but much like the bait-and-switch of their audience interaction bit, the theme erupts into a monster of funk rock that echoes the early, ironically-boneheaded work of fellow statesmen Faith No More. There's an '80s hip-hop influence too, one perfect for the millennial base fixed forever on the nostalgia of it all.

Lyrically, it's so arrogant that it circles itself to become charming. 'We are the best' is the very first lyric, and is promptly followed by 'Our life is a beach / your life is a bitch'. It's just dorky enough to capture the arrested development of the performers, and it's no wonder Christopher Daniels struts to it, nor is it a mystery why SCU open so many AEW shows.

It's telling, though, that this tune was imported from ROH - and is not a testament to the in-house team.
