10 Best Babyface WWE Champions Of The Last Decade

3. Kofi Kingston (WWE Champion)

Kofi Kingston
WWE

The fact that Kofi Kingston is making his second appearance on this list goes to show how popular he is. The New Day member proved himself to be a hard worker over ten years with the company, which is why his sudden placement into the WWE Championship picture was so filled with emotion.

WWE used his lengthy past with the company as a significant building block in his story heading into WrestleMania 35, and it's safe to say that fans were entirely behind him. Therefore, when he got the win - becoming the first African-born WWE Champion - it blew the roof off the building.

This victory overjoyed fans, but it didn't take long for a sense of dread to creep in. The memory of fan-favourite wrestlers like Rey Mysterio - who received similar victories only to be booked into oblivion - were close at hand. But, in an unexpected turn of events, WWE actually gave Kofi some fantastic booking.

Kofi was never made to look weak. On the contrary, he managed to win against huge opponents like Daniel Bryan, Kevin Owens, Dolph Ziggler and even Samoa Joe. While he did lose the title in a squash match to Brock Lesnar, his 180 day reign was worth the unsatisfactory ending.
